Newcastle Gaming Center (10 minutes south of Oklahoma City) is hosting the Summer Sizzler NL Hold'em Classic on Saturday, July 19th.  Buy-in is $240 with an estimated prize pool over $20,000.  As a player appreciation bonus, the casino is adding $2,000 to the prize pool.

The tournament is set for Saturday, July 19th.  Play will start at Noon.  Registration will start at 11am (players in a live game will be registered first).

5,000 starting chips
30 minute blind levels
blinds start at 25-25 and go up incrementally (25-25, 25-50, 50-100, 75-150, 100-200, 150-300, 200-400, 300-600, 400-800, etc.)

The field is limited to the first 100 players (140 if space available) plus alternates.

We will also be having a second chance NL Freezout ($80 buy-in) at 7pm Saturday night.  Entries will be taken on a first come-first serve basis (the field may be limited to the number of seats available in the room).  This tournament will feature $500 added money as a player appreciation bonus.

Anytime Newcastle says they are "adding t the pot" you can bet your bottom dolllar they are taking more out of the buy in to cover what they are adding to the pot, that is why the 10am and 2pm tourneys have gone by the wayside.

The house take for all of our tournaments is standard for the industry.  $60 freeze-outs have $10 taken out for the house.  All of our tournaments also take out a % of the prize pool for the tournament staff (relatively new concept which has become standard).  For saturday's $240 freeze-out, the house take is $30, which is actually a little less than average for the industry.  Play in one of Cherokee's tournaments with the same buy-in and you get this:  $230 NL Hold'em ($190 to prize pool, $30 to house, $10 to staff).  Same breakdown as ours , but with no money added.   Anything less than these percentages taken out result in the house losing money for running a tournament.

GSP I thought looked good outwrestling the all american wrestler.  I am not a Koscheck fan but he still has improved probably as much if not more than anyone else in the last 2 years but I still don't like him.  Anyway if you have any questions about UFC 74 ask me.  I have a UFC 74 Respect poster with all the autographs from every fighter on the card.
