OK, it's official, I'm on an indefinite poker hiatus. When the mojo's this far gone, it's the only thing to do. Not only have my online games been the black holes of suckout fests, my B&M games have been just as bad. Indulge me in my pity party to relate the bad beats to knock me out of my last two. My Wednesday at Firelake Grand.....near the chip lead with 14 players left, Blinds are 300/600, I pick up A T in late position and limp in...an early player limps in, SB folds, BB goes all-in for 1500, limper goes over the top but only for 1800, so it cost me 1200 to call 2 short stacks. I call. I'm up against QJ and KT. OK, so I loose a 3-way race when I'm a slight favorite. 4 hands later, I'm in the BB and pick up AKs. Early position raises 1200, the button comes over the top for 2000. I've got a read on him, so I really want to isolate him so I re-raise to 3000 and the early raiser folds. Flop comes AK3 rainbow so I check hoping to get some action. He goes all-in, so of course I call. He turns over AQ, I show my two pair, the raiser says he threw away QJ. He catchs the only two queens left in the deck to knock my stack in the dirt. Two hands later, I go all in with a pair of 6's in a desparation move, get called with two overs that catch and boom I'm out.
Then today, I'm playing well, but average chip stack, down to 12 players. I pick up Ad7d on the button, action is one limper in mid position, so I raise 2 1/2xBB, BB calls, limper calls. Flop comes 4d 5d 6s. Action gets checked to me, I raise a third of the pot in a semi-bluff. I've got an open ended with a nut flush draw. Turn comes As, again it gets checked to me. Now I have top pair, nut flush draw and straight draw....I've got more outs than a gay pride parade in San Franscisco. I bet the pot, BB folds and limper comes over the top and puts me all-in. I call,he shows a pair of nines. You guessed it, he catches a third nine on the river.
I know getting sucked out on is part of the game....but it's happened so much lately that I'm taking a few weeks off, hitting the poker books, spend some time analysizing my online hands for holes. So, if I'm not at the Wednesday night game, ya'll know why.
Sorry for the vent, but I had to get that off my chest.

yes they are part of the game so I have been told. I am down to my last 20 bucks on pstars and I refuse to put anymore on. I am taking some brutal beats at the moment. and I am so mad and stubborn that I keep playing. I should take some time off but I want to believe it isn't rigged but oh well.

Ahh, unacceptable SilvrDollar. I will send you $0.10 of MOJO via PokerStars. This will be plenty MOJO to turn the tide. You better show Wednesday night, no excuses!!

Thanks for the dime, but it didn't help for shinola......Don't worry, the Wednesday nighter is exempt from the hiatus. I play it more for fun than anything else. Other than last Wednesday, I haven't played a hand in 10 days.....I'm going through some serious withdrawals. I think I'll give it another week....But fellas.....I'm jonesin for some poker.

I once went two weeks without a hand of poker but got kind of "twitchy". I don't recommend this for any normal fellow.

It's not a problem it's a challenge to be overcome...with more poker! I've been running pretty bad online myself lately. Down to about Brager stack. I need a serious change in the mojo myself! Los

12 days and counting for me. Unfortunately, I think, the longer it goes the less I miss it.
I do have some factors keeping me away, more than just will power: A heavy work schedule, little league baseball practice, and now, the holiday weekend coming. It may be another 10 days.
But I'm not as stressed!

Well, popped the poker cherry yesterday. Still got busted out of the Wednesday 4:00 tourney at Firelake, but at least I came in 2nd last night. Then picked up some change at the micro limit. Man, it feels good to play again.
I don't think I'll do that again.....I was twitchier than a starbuck's crackhead on free cappachino day.

Little League? I thought you were supposed to be 18 to play online. Great now when I lose I am being outplayed by 12 yr olds.

I used to coach little league in Indianapolis. 9 and 10 yr olds. But when I moved back here there isn't too many little league charters around here and I am a big believer in the little league organization. I only have a 5 month old daughter right now so I am a ways away from coaching one of my own. Baseball was my life for sooooo many years I had to coach even if none of the kids were mine. Great times.

Were you like Coach Buttermaker from the Bad News Bears? I always cracked up when the kid hurts his elbow and the coach makes him put it in the beer bucket. lol

no not that bad but I did have a kid one time who was the son of a assistant, he was pitching and it was about the 5th inning and he was getting a little tired and starting to get wild. I came out once and told him I would give him a chance to finish as we had a pretty decent lead. I had to come back out though and get him. I told him to go to the outfield as that is where my relief pitcher was coming from. The former pitcher went all the way to the fence and leaned up against it cause he was so mad at me. normally I would take him out but I actually got a chuckle from that. I never cussed out loud but you should have heard some of the things going through my head. LOL. it is sooo fun but sometimes frustrating.
