Tulsa, OK – One night after winning the Oklahoma 'No-Limit Hold'em
Championship' at the Cherokee Casino, Hal Kirkpatrick, of Stillwell KS, defeated
the other 1st Place winners from the previous events in the 'Champions
Tournament' of the Oklahoma State Poker Championship.
For his victory, Kirkpatrick won a seat in the $25,000 WPT seat in Las Vegas.
'It's been an incredible 48 hours!' declared the Champ.
The 'Champions Tournament' concluded the Oklahoma State Championship of
Poker. This year's state tournament broke all previous participation and prize
money records. Tournament events drew well over 3,500 total entries with
approximately 1.5 million in prize money.
'We're pleased with the success of our State Poker Championship,' Director of
Poker and Table Games, Rick O'Connell said, 'Now we begin preparing for our
annual Scotty Nguyen tournament in mid-May. It's another big one.'
